Ibotta App

For all my "frugalistas" there's a new app available in the Android and Apple market called Ibotta.

This app actually allows you to earn money back from your purchases paid via your paypal account or you can donate your earnings to a school.  Now my understanding is today is the last day to earn the $5 paypal payment that iBotta is giving for signing up and after your first purchase.  You do have to submit a picture of you receipt from you qualified purchase.  I have not shopped with it yet but I have set it up and loaded my coupon choices.  The app makes it easy for you to understand exactly how to earn; however I don't think I'll be earning the $5 paypal payment because I went straight to the app store and downloaded the app rather than from the invite (might have to contact them about that).  So $5 or not I still feel its a great app to have!

Can't Afford To Get Sick

Literally, I can't afford to get sick.  I don't like putting "my business" out there, but one of today's events is causing me to take the mask off!  My husband lost his job in October and to date this more than 30 year experienced Radiology Technologist has not found work.  We have had to appeal an unemployment compensation decision and in the process have lost somethings.  I suffer from hypertension so without insurance and VA Benefit having to go towards rent; guess what...no meds for me.  Well, with that said we applied for GA Medicaid for myself and our daughter; just to be told that because my husband has a VA Benefit I don't qualify for Medicaid.  What happened to quality of life?  I am saddened by this because I refuse to believe that the great number of Medicaid cases on file have incomes less than $389 a month.  Actually what I was told was that our income needs to be less that $200.00 a month.  Something somewhere is terribly wrong!

I'm sharing this, hoping it helps someone.  Since my husband lost his job and the turn of events that we have had a weak person would not be able to stand.  I believe our unwavering FAITH is seeing us through.  Romans 12:12 says "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."  With the flu epidemic being what it is in GA I have to keep this scripture in my heart.  I count my blessing and I thank God for life, keeping in mind someone somewhere doesn't have a roof over their head, so I am grateful.  I just feel something is wrong with the system;(

Until next post, Maximize LIFE to the fullest.

Happy New Year Everyone

I know I'm a little late, but better late than never.  I was so happy and ecstatic about starting this new year; couldn't wait to say good-bye to 2012 and had no plans of looking back.  Well the 1st day of the New Year got off to a wonderful start.  Low and behold day two started looking like the year I'm striving to erase from my memory.  I'll start of by sharing my latest cellphone experience.  I am what you call an APPLE addict so I don't know why I decided to try a windows phone.  Could it be because it was pink and pretty? Oh, and .99 at att.com with a new 2 year contact!  Well here's my experience.  I'll call it Nokia Lumia 900 verses iPhone 4.
This phone did not last a week with me, maybe its because I'm just use to the iPhone now, but let me tell you I hated this phone. As pretty as it is the Windows apps just do not compare to those that I depend on with my iPhone. I say compare but what I mean is...a lot of apps that I use just aren't available on this windows phone.  I couldn't do screen captures, I couldn't edit my ebay listings nor track the deliveries of sold items. Major problem for me. Banking apps, Waze navigation app that I love, just to name a few.  Photo editing is not available, and OMG no INSTAGRAM..can you believe it!  I will say the volume and camera on the Lumia get a thumbs up from me.  The sleekness and vibrancy of the screen is amazing, but other than that this was not the phone for me!  I guess I'm #teamiphone til I die. Unless of course I'm gifted the Samsung Note II;) I'm just saying.

Now for healthy living... My place of worship is on the Daniel Fast (fruit, vegetables and water) for 21 Days.  It was my Intention to blog my daily meal choices.  I don't know about everyday but I will share some.  This evening I tried this

This is a meal by itself!  These were so good; I will definitely be returning to Wal-Mart to get more of these.  DH had a can and he too enjoyed them.  He added wheat tortilla chips to his.

Well that's all for tonight; I hope you enjoyed.  Until next post live life to the Maximum
